Celtic publish training footage as Bhoys get back to work and re-focus after derby fun; Kyogo involved

There’s no doubt it has been a fun few days to be a Celtic supporter.

The obvious high was Sunday’s match itself and the huge result away to Rangers at Ibrox. But it’s fair to say every fan has had a spring in their step for days since the full-time whistle, taking in the joy of gloating at the expense of our rivals.

There has been a lot of talk about Celtic’s status as title favourites and the fact ‘the league is won’. While that’s a fine assessment for us supporters – excitement is natural – it won’t even be entering the minds of Ange Postecoglou and their squad.

After some rest this week, the Bhoys are back in training ahead of St Johnstone on Saturday to go through the hard work that has served them so well all season.

The club published training footage on the official Instagram account earlier today, putting a focus on Carl Starfelt after his towering performance in the derby.

Thankfully there are no early signs of significant injuries after a physical match with players such as Tom Rogic and Josip Juranvoic spotted in the background.

Meanwhile, Kyogo Furuhashi could also be seen still involved having successfully come through training sessions at the back end of last week.

The Japanese forward was somewhat surprisingly not in the match squad at all at Ibrox but is now expected to feature at Celtic Park this weekend, likely off the bench in the second half.

Callum Davidson’s side will be up for the battle this weekend given their relegation dogfight at the bottom of the table, so nothing can be taken for granted here.

We need the same intensity and determination from Celtic now. Nothing can slip simply because we have a commanding league lead.

Let’s win this title!
