Celtic have recently been told what they will receive financially from the SPFL after being confirmed as eight in a row champions.
The Scottish Sun has revealed that the Hoops will earn just over £2 million for winning the league title. Obviously that figure is tiny when you compare it to the sums in other countries, like England for example.
However, that doesn’t mean that the two million can’t be put to good use by the club in the summer. It could be out towards new contracts for a player or two.

Help purchase a player
Or, perhaps more intriguingly, it could be used to help purchase a player for the club.
Reports are claiming that Kilmarnock are listening to offers for right-back Stephen O’Donnell and that the Hoops could be interested.

He is the type of player that the Hoops could use their windfall on. A player who will enhance the squad.
Support move get behind move

That is a move that the Celtic support would get behind.
What must really be irking Celtic though is the lack of money you get for winning the title. Hopefully that will increase when the new television deal kicks in, but it is still a paltry sum compared to other countries.
However, that is what you have to deal with when you play in Scotland. The Hoops are set to receive a fairly decent windfall. It is up to the club to put it to good use.
