Ange Postecoglou’s successful recruitment from the J-League could aid Hearts in their pursuit of Vissel Kobe forward Yutaro Oda.
Reports last night from Japan suggested that the Tynecastle side were chasing the 21-year-old Japanese forward as they eye up January additions.
And the Edinburgh Evening News back up those rumours stating that Hearts joined other European sides chasing Oda’s signature.

Over the past 18 months, the J-League has become a familiar transfer market for Celtic thanks to Ange Postecoglou’s previous spell working in the league as manager of Yokohama F Marinos.
The 57-year-old has made five signings from the top-flight of Japanese football, bringing Kyogo Furuhashi, Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate, Yosuke Ideguchi and most recently, Yuki Kobayashi to the club.
Three of the five additions have proved to be a huge success, whilst Ideguchi has been very unfortunate with injury, and Kobayashi has only just arrived at the club.
And according to the Edinburgh Evening News, the success of Celtic’s signings from the J-League could play a part in Hearts’ pursuit of Yutaro Oda.
The report states that the Japanese youth international has been left intrigued by the possibility of playing in Scotland, having watched the success of his fellow countryman at Parkhead.
So the Bhoys could help aid another Scottish Premiership side as they look to make an ambitious move for the former teammate of Kyogo and Kobayashi at Vissel Kobe.

Celtic have showcased how Scottish clubs can look outside the box in the transfer market.
Since Ange Postecoglou’s arrival at Parkhead last summer, the Bhoys have been shopping in a whole host of new and different markets.
The J-League has proved to be a big success, with the Celtic boss showcasing his knowledge of the league. But we have also seen recruitment from the Argentinean leagues and MLS.
Postecoglou has been the perfect example of how clubs in Scotland should be looking at underrated markets all across the world in order to bring in untouched quality players.
It is interesting to hear how Celtic’s recruitment success is having a direct impact on players who could be heading to Scotland.
The club are clearly making a good impression, which shouldn’t only help aid the other teams in our league but also provide examples of what a move to Celtic Park can do for future transfer targets.
