Celtic reportedly not interested in signing Liam Moore

It seems that Celtic’s search for a centre-back will go on, as the club have reportedly denied interest in a player who was recently linked with the side.

Reading’s Liam Moore was linked with the Hoops by Reading Chronicle reporter Courtney Friday.

However, the Daily Record have cast doubt on the move, claiming that the player is not on Celtic’s radar.

Ironically, the player is one that Celtic could be doing with. Although his primary position is centre-back, he has also played at right-back.

Those are the two positions which Celtic will be looking to fill with some urgency this summer. Filip Benkovic and Dedryck Boyata have both left the Hoops recently. Whilst Mikael Lustig’s future with the club seems to be in doubt.

Therefore, signing a player like Moore looked to be a very sensible move.

However, it seems that Moore will not be making a move to Celtic Park this summer.

Neil Lennon’s side will no doubt be linked with plenty of players in the summer. Moore is one that fans could have been excited about, even though Reading have struggled recently.

Perhaps later in the transfer window, if the Hoops are still in the market for a centre-back, they will look to signing Moore. For now though, it looks like they have other targets in mind.
