Celtic are set to reportedly set to receive a guard of honour from Hearts. The accolade will come a week after Rangers refused to pay tribute to the champions.
The Scottish Sun has revealed that Craig Levein’s side have no problem with paying tribute to Scotland’s eight in a row champions on Sunday.
Second guard of honour in a row
Interestingly enough, Hearts gave Celtic a guard of honour last season. On that occasion, the Hoops won 3-1 at Tynecastle not long after winning the title.
Before the last Glasgow derby of the season, Rangers boss Steven Gerrard revealed that the Ibrox club would not give the honour to Celtic.
Extra importance this season
However, it seems that Hearts are set to give Celtic the honour. It is intriguing how the guard of honour seems to have taken extra importance this season.
Just recently, interim Celtic boss Neil Lennon claimed that he would have given Rangers a guard of honour if the Ibrox side had won the title.
The outcry has been a nice distraction from Celtic fans. They have been spending time wondering who is going to be the club’s next manager.
There isn’t any love lost between Celtic and Hearts. No doubt the Scottish Cup Final between the teams will be a very feisty affair.
However, all at the club will appreciate the gesture that is set to be made by the Tynecastle side.
