Celtic legend John Clark’s funeral mass was held in Calton, Glasgow on Friday.

Clark sadly passed away on Monday, June 23 at the age of 84 as the Celtic family across the world mourned his death.

The Lisbon Lion’s funeral was attended by a number of Celtic representatives past and present at St Mary’s Church in Calton, the place where Celtic FC was said to be formed.

After the funeral, the cortege travelled to Celtic Park to be met by hundreds of Hoops fans who lined the Celtic Way to bid farewell to Clark.

The guests who attended John Clark’s funeral

Photography agency SNS was present outside both St Mary’s Church and Celtic Park to document the funeral mass and the cortege passing by the stadium.

They took pictures of a number of famous guests who attended to pay their respects to Clark and his family. Here are some of the people we spotted in SNS’s gallery:

John Clark’s incredible service to Celtic over the years

Clark started the 1967 European Cup final victory against Inter Milan as the Hoops secured a 2-1 victory in the heat of Lisbon.

With that, he became a Lisbon Lion and thus forever immortalised as one of the greatest Celtic players to represent the club.

Clark became part of the Celtic coaching staff in the 1970s as he took charge of the reserve and youth teams, before becoming Billy McNeill’s assistant manager.

And then he was the kit man for more than 20 years through the management years of Martin O’Neill, Gordon Strachan and Neil Lennon.

Rest in peace, John Clark.
