Emilio Izaguirre claims Celtic stopped a potential move to the MLS in January.
The defender is now out of contact and seeking a new club since departing for the second time.
However, the Hoops were right to put the breaks on the winter move for a variety of reasons.
Lack of cover is the main one as history is showing.
Emilio Izaguirre reveals MLS move
The 33-year-old is reflecting on his less than successful second spell with The Bhoys.

He told Goal that Celtic reportedly stopped a life changing move across the Atlantic Ocean to the USA.
Izaguirre said: “I had offers in January and Celtic didn’t let me go.
“I had offers from the MLS. My agent only told me that Celtic put a lot of obstacles in the way.”
For Izaguirre to contemplate a possible move would have been massive for him and his young family.
Massive benefits such as a healthy pay packet and perhaps more playing time would be attractive.
At his age, his career will be winding down and he will be looking for one last big move before retirement.

It would also have brought him closer to his family in Honduras in Central America.
However, Celtic were right to stop the move.
Celtic correct to prevent Emilio Izaguirre transfer
Context is everything when it comes to this move for Izaguirre.
Around this time, the Honduras international was playing more games.
Kieran Tierney was in and out of the treatment table which required Izaguirre to step up.
He even played the first leg in the Europa League last 32 against Valencia.

The Hoops did bring in another left-back in January with Andrew Gutman but he was loaned back out.
Celtic needed Izaguirre and also had to play Johnny Hayes in the position on occasion.
Now, Izaguirre can go out and look for any club he wants without any interference.
Best of luck to a man who was always there when required for the club.
