The Celtic supporters are watching the Steven Gerrard story with interest, but the Rangers fans appear to be looking at things in complete meltdown mode.
Indeed, Gerrard could very well be off to Aston Villa. The Telegraph reported yesterday that Villa are set to approach Rangers for their manager. Gerrard is also said to be interested in the gig too.
Funny that, isn’t he supposed to be ready to stay there for years and built a dynasty and all the rest of it?
We know exactly how this works after the Brendan Rodgers to Leicester debacle of 2019. If Rodgers can leave us mid-season to take an EPL job, then Gerrard can easily do the same to a club he had no prior affection for before he took the managerial gig.
And for Celtic supporters, it would be extremely interesting to see how his potential exit would affect our main title rivals’ season.
Celtic will be watching with interest as Rangers could go into turmoil
When Rodgers left Celtic, Neil Lennon came in and steadied the ship. We did manage to see out the league title, but performance levels reduces drastically and there was massive disappointment when he was given the job permanently.

If Gerrard leaves Rangers, this could easily trigger an even further decrease in performance levels. Especially considering he has plenty of players who are likely only there because of the name in charge.
It could absolutely rock their foundations this season, and given the momentum Ange Postecoglou is picking up at Celtic, that will give Rangers fans a major cause for concern.
Of course you still have the stubborn ones. Those that think they know Gerrard as a man and seem to believe that they know he’ll reject any approach from Villa. Don’t be so sure lads – the EPL is where he truly wants to be.
And below, we take a look at some of the other Rangers fans who are in meltdown as they already start to turn on their potentially departing manager:
