Celtic Scottish Cup fifth round draw confirmed; dates, details and TV coverage

Celtic have found out that they will face St Mirren at the SMiSA Stadium in the Scottish Cup fifth round after a 5-0 victory over Buckie Thistle today.

The Bhoys have managed to secure a passage into the next phase after goals from Paulo Bernardo, Odin Thiago Holm, Kyogo Furuhashi, Luis Palma and Rocco Vata rounded up a comprehensive win for Brendan Rodgers’ men at Parkhead.

Elsewhere, Airdrie and Partick Thistle pulled off the biggest shocks of the weekend’s action by seeing off St Johnstone and Ross County, respectively.

Entering the last 16 of the tournament, Celtic are joined by Rangers, Heart of Midlothian, Hibernian, Aberdeen, Kilmarnock, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, St Mirren, Motherwell, Livingston, Partick Thistle, Greenock Morton, Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic, Ayr United, Airdrie and the eventual winner of Brora Rangers vs Cove Rangers tie which was postponed.

Now, Rodgers and his side will prepare to take on St Mirren as they seek to take one step closer to defending the trophy.

All ties will take place on the weekend commencing Saturday 10th February and will be shared among Viaplay and BBC Sport, with the former getting first dibs on which games to broadcast.

With Celtic pushing on in the hunt for a domestic double, this campaign could well be a successful one and they will fancy their chances of getting into the quarter-final.

The Scottish Cup can provide agony and ecstasy in equal measure and the Hoops will be hoping they can experience the latter come late May.
