Celtic take on Kilmarnock at Rugby Park this afternoon.
After Hearts beat Rangers at Ibrox yesterday, Celtic have the chance to pull even further ahead of their Glasgow rivals with a win in Ayrshire.
As everyone knows by now, Celtic fans are protesting against the board at Rugby Park this afternoon in the first of what will be a prolonged series of demonstrations towards those in charge at Parkhead.
And to prepare for the game, Celtic released a statement with some ‘important information’ for those supporters intending to make the trip to Kilmarnock this morning.

Have Celtic just sent a warning to fans travelling to Kilmarnock?
With Celtic fans planning a staged 12-minute late walk-in at Rugby Park this afternoon, has the club just warned the fans about possible ramifications on doing so?
In a statement on Celtic FC website, the club said, “The possession and use of fireworks, smoke bombs, firecrackers and all pyrotechnics are absolutely prohibited, due to the serious risk to spectator safety.
“The club and its supporters are rightly proud of our reputation and we encourage all supporters to help foster this reputation at our fixtures.
“Supporters without tickets are asked not to attend the stadium as there will be a strict no ticket, no entry policy.
“We recommend that supporters with valid tickets arrive early and comply with all stewarding requests.
“As always, safety management of the match rests entirely with Kilmarnock and Police Scotland who have the final say on all matters.”
In what seems like a thinly veiled warning ahead of today’s fan action at Kilmarnock, have Celtic just pre-warned fans that there could be a possible safety issue that could cause problems at Rugby Park?
Celtic’s recent record vs Kilmarnock at Rugby Park
Celtic have a very good overall record against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park. However, since Brendan Rodgers’ return, there have been some poor results in Ayrshire.
A defeat in the Scottish Premiership and League Cup in Rodgers’ first season back gave Celtic an early set back in 2023/24.
However, since then, 5-0 and 2-0 wins have restored Celtic’s winning record at Kilmarnock and fans will be hoping for a repeat of either of those results.
Opening up a nine-point gap from Rangers at the top of the league would be an excellent way to return from the international break as Celtic look to continue their undefeated start to the domestic campaign going.
