Celtic have announced the date of one of the most important events in the club’s calendar. It has been revealed that the club’s AGM will take place on the 27th of November.

Celtic made the announcement to the London Stock Exchange. The timing of this season’s AGM is certainly interesting, as it could come in the lead up to a potential Betfred Cup Final. It is also the day before the Hoops play Rennes in what could be a pivotal Europa League fixture.

Celtic’s AGM is always newsworthy. It gives Hoops fans who are shareholders the chance to quiz Neil Lennon and Hoops chief executive Peter Lawwell about what is going on at the club. That is a chance that they rarely get in a public forum. That is why the event is one of the most important of the year for the Hoops support in particular.

The nature of the questions could well depend on the results on the pitch around the time of the AGM. However, the defeat to Cluj in the Champions League and Celtic’s transfer window business might well be on the agenda.

Manager will no doubt receive warm reception

Neil Lennon will no doubt receive a warm reception from the Hoops support who attend the AGM. He will be given plenty of praise for taking the Hoops job on at short notice and dragging the team over the line to the domestic treble.

If Celtic are still top of the league and doing well in both Europe and the Betfred Cup, then the AGM should mostly pass without incident.

However, should results start to tail off in the next month, rightly or wrongly the manager could find his decisions questioned.
