Celtic’s hunt to replace Brendan Rodgers should see them considering two former rivals to succeed the double treble winning manager.
Mikel Arteta and Giovanni Van Bronckhorst are two names that should absolutely be in the hat for the Celtic job come the summer.
It may be an unprecedented move, however it is one that Celtic should be taking a serious look at it.

Neil Lennon is in interim charge of the Bhoys and there’s a sense that it is ‘his job to lose.’
However, anything short of success in the Premiership and Scottish Cup should see Lennon out of contention.
Even still, completing a historic treble treble should not automatically secure Lennon the position.
Fans may not be instantly on board with replacing Lennon with an ex Rangers player, but it may be the best move for the club.

Arteta is currently working under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. The former Rangers, Everton and Arsenal midfielder is highly thought of at the Etihad Stadium.
The Spaniard made 67 appearances for Rangers, and scored the goal that effectively secured their 50th league title.
The Telegraph reported that Arsene Wenger had recommended Arteta follow him as Arsenal manager last year.
His managerial career is about to begin at some point, and why not at Celtic? The job is an opportunity for him to hone his skills at a massive club.
His reputation down south means his success in Scotland will be noticed by the bigger clubs.
However, Arteta is just one of two former rivals who could interest the Celtic hierarchy.

Van Bronckhorst is currently managing Feyenoord in Holland. He made over 200 appearances for the club as a player.
He led them to their first league title in 18 years in 2017. Sky Sports reported that the former Rangers man is leaving the club in the summer for a new challenge.
With a league title in the bag already, it’s clear he is a manager on the rise in the game.
Unlike Arteta, however, the Dutchman may have a joker up his sleeve to endear himself to the Celtic fans.
Having played together at Feyenoord, Van Bronckhorst happens to be very good friends with iconic Celt Henirk Larsson. Would having Larsson in his backroom staff help him settle in to life at Celtic?

A brave move that may pay off
Celtic have a thankless task replacing Rodgers in the summer. Despite the way he left the club, no one can argue with the success he delivered.
Like when appointing Rodgers, the Celtic board must be bold this summer in replacing him.
Celtic fans will not accept anything less. Two ex-Gers may not sound appealing at first, however it may pay off in the end.
One happens to be Henrik’s best friend, and the other had more chance of getting the Arsenal job than our former manager did.
