Wilfried Nancy has come in for some serious criticism after his first game as the new Celtic manager.
A lot of that criticism has come from some bizarre media headlines regarding the Celtic boss, especially after the Hearts defeat as Nancy has become a figure of ridicule for many.
Incredibly, the Frenchman’s footwear was critiqued, as well as Nancy’s tactics board as the all-out assault on the Celtic manager reached peak nonsensical levels.
Let us know what you think of Ryan Stevenson’s astonishing attack on Wilfried Nancy in the comments.
However, if Celtic fans want to listen to anyone, it should be Gian Piero Gasperini as the Roma boss offers some insight on Nancy’s tactics and, let’s be honest, a world-class coach like him knows what it’s all about.

Wilfried Nancy’s new Celtic tactics gave Gian Piero Gasperini ‘a very positive impression’
Taking out the poor Hearts performance at Celtic Park, Gasperini looked at the overall picture and how Nancy only had three days’ worth of training to get his new and fresh ideas across to the Celtic players.
And the Roma boss was left very impressed indeed.
Gasperini said on Roma’s YouTube channel, “For the first time, under the new coach, they played with three at the back. They interpreted it well: the goals they conceded came from incidents, like dead-ball situations, but the overall performance was good.
“You can see they’ve assimilated the principles quickly. The differences are in the details, not the formation.

“The three-man defence is very common today, whereas a few years ago it seemed an unusual choice, especially associated with Atalanta.
“I don’t know how they’ll present themselves tomorrow, but they gave me a very positive impression: an attacking, open, proactive team.”
The legendary Italian manager can see exactly what Nancy is trying to do and in the first half against Hearts, it looked really good.
Let’s hope that the 25 minutes Nancy got out of the players can be replicated for longer against Roma at Celtic Park.
What Roma boss Gian Piero Gasperini really thinks about Celtic
The Roma boss was very complimentary about his Europa League opponents as Gasperini was full of gushing praise for Celtic.
Gasperini continued, “Celtic are a worthy team. I saw their last match: they played very well, despite the result not being their best.
How do you think Celtic will fare against Roma?
“Playing in their stadium is never easy; it’s an incredible atmosphere, with so much history.
“I think it will be a great and very important match for both teams, because the points are now really starting to count.”
Avoiding defeat against the Serie A giants would be a positive result for Nancy ahead of the Premier Sports Cup final on Sunday.
But what a boost a win could be for the Frenchman as some people apply unnecessary pressure on the new Celtic manager.
