There was a bit of head scratching going on for Celtic fans earlier when Shaun Rooney was announced as the latest special guest for an upcoming Hydro event.
In just over a fortnight, club heroes Scott Brown and Mikael Lustig will celebrate their Hoops careers in front of thousands of Celtic fans.
The pair will be joined by a number of guests including Gordon Strachan, Callum McGregor and Ange Postecoglou.

While the latter never crossed paths with either player at Celtic Park, Rooney‘s inclusion is a little more surprising.
Not only did the full-back never play with Brown or Lustig, but he hasn’t played for Celtic either.
He does, however, have plenty of recent experience of former Hoops captain Brown. Rooney is Brown’s player at Fleetwood Town.
Celtic’s social media post seems to hint at the reason for Rooney’s inclusion: to offer some insight on Brown the manager.
In the clip, Rooney says: “You know the player. And I know the manager.”
So it seems like those in attendance are going to be getting some insight on how Brown has changed since he stopped playing the game.

Rooney was quoted in the accompanying statement, saying: “It will be a total honour to be there on the night and I’ll have plenty stories to share – just not sure the gaffer will love them all.
The Celtic supporters are second to none and it’s going to be a belter of a night.”
Current Celtic B coach Darren O’Dea has also been confirmed for the event on Thursday 18 May. (Celtic)
