Celtic’s SLO has moved to defend the rail seating area at Parkhead and the Green Brigade who occupy it.
Earlier today, Cheshire Police Chief Mark Roberts had a major pop at the Celtic supporters group when discussing safe standing. He accused the GB of “bullying” the club’s own supporters, stating that their growth has come with lots of bad behaviour [TalkSPORT].
However, Celtic’s SLO has responded by stating that everyone who has come to view the standing section at Parkhead has been left mightily impressed:
We won’t pretend the club hasn’t had its run-ins with the Green Brigade. There has been plenty of controversy surrounding plenty of issues in the past.
However, Celtic’s standing section has led to the supporters’ group adding a real vibrancy back to Celtic Park. They add a colour, a uniqueness, and most of all a tremendous atmosphere.
It’s imperative that Celtic move to defend them from ridiculous bullying allegations. As a frequent Celtic Park attendee and someone who isn’t a member of the Green Brigade, I can safely say I’ve never had any experience of bullying from them in any regard.

Celtic safe standing has been a major success
It’s difficult to even know what Robins meant when he said other supporters are being bullied. Where on earth has that even come from? What are the Green Brigade supposed to be doing that constitutes as bullying?
The controversy that’s come up in the past certainly hasn’t had bullying at its core. And their actions whilst being part of the safe standing section certainly doesn’t have aspects of bullying attached to it.
It’s a baseless and crass remark that should be vigorously defended by the club.
As for the misbehavioural aspect, let’s again not pretend that’s solely restricted to the Green Brigade. That happens all over stadiums all around the UK. To use it as some sort of argument against safe standing is just embarrassing.
Celtic have had representatives from the likes of Liverpool Supporters’ Club Spirit of Shankly visit and hail the project [FSA].
The allegations are an utter nonsense, and Celtic should be the first to say so.
