Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor has revealed his biggest critic is his mum. The Hoops star speaks on the phone to her after every game he plays for both club and country.
“I speak to my mum after every game, and we sit for an hour and a half after night matches” he said, as reported by the Scottish Sun.
“Good to get an outside opinion”

“She’s a really good sounding board for me after games, and she’s pretty honest about my performance and how the team played. It’s always good to get an outside opinion on it and sometimes you hear things you don’t want to.”
It is interesting to hear that a football player is willing to listen to criticism. Although perhaps it is easier if the critic is the player’s mother.
Doesn’t shirk from telling it like it is

It seems that McGregor’s mum won’t shirk from telling it like it is. Who knows, perhaps that will help the player improve on his game.
McGregor’s mum can’t really complain about his performances in the last few seasons though. He has been one of Celtic’s best players.
He has been a key part of the team which has driven the side to nine domestic trophies in a row. However, it has to be said that perhaps his performances this season have not been up to the very high standards of recent years.
Perhaps his mother has mentioned that, in her post-match chats. Still, McGregor’s comments are an interesting look into the fact that one of their biggest critics could be related to them.
