Celtic Anthony Ralston has insisted Ange Postecoglou’s managerial methods are working despite a poor run of results.
The Bhoys dropped more Scottish Premiership points yesterday at home to Dundee United in a 1-1 draw. It’s the fourth time in seven matches that has happened this season.
Celtic created a number of chances in the match and hit the woodwork three times, but it was not a performance to savour by any means.
Ralston still has full belief in the manager and says his teammates are still bought in to his playing style and methods.
Speaking to The Glasgow Times, he said: “The style of football we’re playing is working. We’re all believing in the style of play the gaffer wants us to play.
“The performances are there. I think in the final third we are creating chances. The results will come with that.
The Celtic fightback has to start this week
“We’re disappointed we’ve not got the win on Sunday. It’s a game of football and we want to win every game. That’s our aim. I feel we just need to get back into the training ground and get on with our work.
“We know it’s going to be a tough game (against Leverkusen), but we’ll go into training this week and we’ll work together and hopefully put in a good performance and get the result.”
Leverkusen are no joke and there has to be a huge improvement in performance if we’re to have a hope of getting anything against them.
After losing to Real Betis in the opening match, a defeat would give us a mountain to climb in the remaining four games.
With the small matter of Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Sunday too, it’s going to be a difficult week full of danger, but one with great opportunity too.
In other news, Albian Ajeti has blown his big Celtic chance and Ange now needs to consider extreme options.
