Celtic defender Josip Juranovic has been called up to the Croatia squad for this month’s up-and-coming international break.
The 27-year-old has had a fantastic first 12 months at Parkhead since joining from Polish side Legia Warsaw last summer.
Juranovic has seen off strong competition from academy graduate Anthony Ralston to nail down the starting right-back slot in Ange Postecoglou’s side.

So far this campaign, the full-back has started in each of the Hoops league outings, including emphatic victories against Dundee United and Rangers in recent weeks.
Of course, at one stage during the summer transfer window, there were suggestions that Juranovic may not be a Celtic player for much longer ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
Interest from clubs such as Atletico Madrid and Chelsea arrived, but any moves for the player failed to come to fruition with the defender keen on staying at Parkhead.
And the Croatian has kicked the season off in green and white in fine form, scoring his first goal of the season at Tannadice towards the end of August.
Juranovic’s form under Ange Postecoglou has once again been rewarded with a call-up to the Croatian international side for this month’s fixtures.
The right-back will be looking to pick up his 21st and 22nd caps against Denmark and Austria later in September after also nailing down the starting spot for his nation.
Eyes will be on Juranovic as he prepares to play on the European stage with Celtic.
Having already attracted interest from huge clubs across the globe after just one year in Glasgow, there is bound to be plenty more eyes on Josip Juranovic over the next few months.
Not only will he be performing for a top nation like Croatia on the international stage, but he will also be looking to perform for Celtic in the Champions League group stages.
With the full-back set to face off against one of the best frontlines in world football tomorrow evening, a strong showing would attract yet more interest.
It will be great to see Ange Postecoglou’s side showcase their abilities on such a huge occasion on Tuesday, and there is no doubting that a player of Juranovic’s quality will be able to step up to the mark.
