Daizen Maeda has had a stunning season for Celtic.

Brendan Rodgers is on the cusp of winning another treble after the Celtic manager wrapped up the League Cup and the Scottish Premiership title.

Maeda has been central to that success and the Japan striker is likely to play a huge part in the Hampden showpiece final on Saturday afternoon.

But as Maeda continues to hog the limelight, it appears that another of the Celtic first-team players has been rated the Scottish Premiership Player of the Season.

So the Celtic defender has been rated more consistent than goal machine Daizen Maeda so just what set both players apart?

Granted, both players have different attributes that have contributed in different ways to Celtic’s success this season but this is nice recognition for Scales who often comes in for unnecessary criticism.
