Celtic starlet Karamoko Dembele has been given an accolade by the makers of top football video game FIFA 21, the Scottish Sun reports.

The report details that the player has been named as one of the top 10 players that can be considered hidden gems, when you play the game on career mode. The player is ranked seventh on a list of players that have been earmarked as those with plenty of potential to go on and have a great career in the game.

Quite an accolade for the player

That is quite an accolade for the player. It shows that the player is certainly making an impression on those that contribute to FIFA 21’s player ratings, even if he isn’t currently making much of an impression at Celtic Park.

Dembele has not featured for Celtic since the 5-1 win over Hamilton all the way back in August. He has made the bench a few times in Europe, but other than that he has not been involved at all this season.

That is a bit of a surprise, especially when you consider that the 17-year-old is a very talented player, and Celtic haven’t been in the best of form at times this season.

Maybe his contract situation is a reasoning for that. Dembele’s deal with Celtic expires at the end of the season, and perhaps the club have not been able to convince him to sign a new one.

A pity if player doesn’t make it with Hoops

It will be a pity if a player that looks to have so much potential doesn’t get to realise that potential at Celtic Park.

Still, these things happen in football. Young players have often moved on to other clubs without making the breakthrough at their first club.

There is still time for Dembele to make it at Celtic, although that might well depend on if he signs a new deal or not. Only time will tell on that front.

In other news, a Celtic duo should aim to make Scotland’s Euro 2020 squad.
