Celtic managed to see off Dundee despite needing patience to break the deadlock in a match that ensured they remain top of the Scottish Premiership table.
Despite facing a stubborn opponent, Alistair Johnston and Arne Engels struck to settle the scoring in a match where the Bhoys could’ve won by a considerable margin.
Staying at the summit, Celtic’s victory against Dundee was matched by Aberdeen against Rangers, leaving Brendan Rodgers’ men ahead on goal difference as Premier Sports Cup action takes centre stage this weekend.
With another important three points in the bank, several Bhoys stars have been reacting to their latest triumph on Instagram.
Alistair Johnston and Kasper Schmeichel on Celtic win vs Dundee
Taking to the social media platform after scoring in consecutive matches, Alistair Johnston posted a series of photos from the clash with the caption ‘Enjoy your evening everyone’ as the Bhoys prevailed against Dundee.
Taking the captain’s armband when coming on, the Canada international’s exploits were lauded by Bhoys icon Joe Hart, who responded in the comments by saying ‘On fire’ to his ex-teammate.
Daizen Maeda also replied showing how impressed he was by the former CF Montreal man, calling him ‘Awesome’ after his strike, which is a sentiment every Celtic fan will agree with.
On the same token, Kasper Schmeichel posted after keeping his eighth clean sheet between the sticks, writing: “Another great night in Paradise.”
Despite having virtually nothing to do bar a smart early stop, the Denmark international was alert as ever during another positive exercise for his side.
Greg Taylor and Hyunjun Yang react to Celtic victory
Making his return from injury, Greg Taylor enjoyed a steady evening at home to Dundee and delivered a thankful response post-match, stating: “We got there in the end! Nice to be back.”
Indeed, it was nice to see Taylor back! With Alex Valle’s positive recent form, there is a real battle for the left-back slot at Celtic that could go either way.
Furthermore, Hyunjun Yang made an impact out wide by claiming an assist for Johnston’s opener on the hour mark.
Delivering a message after his first opportunity of the campaign in the starting line-up, he wrote: “I’m grateful to be able to play the game!” To which Paulo Bernardo responded by saying ‘Crack’, whatever that means!
Following his limited first-team exposure this term, the South Korean winger will be keen to force his way into contention over the coming months. Due to Celtic’s heavy fixture schedule, you suspect everyone will be relied upon.
