Former Celtic star Lewis Morgan appears to be enjoying his new life in the United States, posting an Instagram update about having dinner with football icon David Beckham this week.
Morgan was sold by Celtic to Major League Soccer side Inter Miami during the January transfer window and is busy preparing for the new season, which kicks off this weekend.
Beckham is one of the owners of the newly established club and clearly brings a bit of glamour to proceedings. No doubt his presence has been a major factor in attracting many players from far and wide to the project.
Morgan couldn’t quite prove himself to be a reliable first-team pick while at Celtic Park but will be hoping his new surroundings help him unlock his potential.
The move to Florida is a huge opportunity for the Scotland international, with many eyes on how Beckham’s team get on in their debut campaign.
Still just 23, Morgan potentially has a fantastic career ahead of him, especially if he can again show the consistency that attracted Celtic to the winger in the first place.
Stars of Celtic Park past and present are clearly enjoying his brush with Beckham with Karamoko Dembele, Jonny Hayes, Ryan Christie, Scott Sinclair and Greg Taylor all amongst those showing support on Instagram in comments to the post.
It seems that Morgan was a popular character in the Celtic dressing room and his former colleagues appear delighted he is settling into life across the Atlantic well.
Miami’s first match comes this Sunday, playing Los Angeles FC in California before travelling cross coast to take on DC United the following week.
Morgan’s first home match will come on March 14th when his side host Javier Hernandez’s LA Galaxy.
