The likes of Tom Rogic, Joe Hart, and Greg Taylor have all responded to Josip Juranovic’s brilliant Croatian Instagram throwback this afternoon.

Juranovic is currently on international duty with his home nation and has, over the last year, appeared to become their first-choice right-back.

And as he reflected on that particular achievement today, he couldn’t help but post a brilliant throwback of himself with Mario Mandzukic and Mateo Kovacic from 8 years ago. Something well appreciated by Rogic and Hart, whilst Taylor looked to tease the Croat:

At the time the photo was taken, Juranovic was just an upstart with Dubrava in his hometown before his big move to Dinamo Zagreb.

It was there he started to bolster his reputation back in his homeland. Now, he’s thriving at Celtic Park and has extensive European and international experience.

Josip’s certainly living the dream he had in his head back then. Now starring alongside the likes of Luka Modric and Kovacic, you have to say his story is certainly inspirational.

Josip Juranovic continues to impress with Croatia and Celtic

Juranovic hasn’t once looked out of his depth at any level he’s operated in. Whether it be for Celtic or Croatia, the right-back has brilliantly slotted in and has been doing his job for both sides.

It remains to be seen what else Juranovic wants to achieve in football. As far as he’s come, he’ll have his own personal goals that he wants to reach in both the short and long-term.

Hopefully, it doesn’t involve a move down to England or abroad in the foreseeable future. We want to have Josip contributing to Celtic for the long-term and continuing to play a big role for us in the Champions League. That has to be the goal for us and Josip himself.

He’s been an absolute standout this season, and credit to him as he’s also been constantly committing himself to the club. Even when questioned about a possible move by Croatian media, Josip absolutely shot it down [Sportske Novosti].

Hopefully, this year is the start of a special relationship between Josip and the Celtic supporters. It’s clear he can still reach his international ambitions by staying in Glasgow. That’s a big boost for us and will hopefully be enough to see him commit here for an extensive period.

Regardless, his debut campaign has been tremendous. He can be more than proud of what he’s produced here.
