Celtic starting XI vs Midtjylland confirmed, Bain recalled, TV details, fans react
The Celtic starting XI to face Midtjylland in Denmark has been announced, as per the UEFA website.
The team reads as follows:
Starting XI: Bain, Ralston, Welsh, Murray, Taylor, Soro, McGregor, Abada, Turnbull, Christie, Edouard
Subs: Barkas, Doohan, Bolingoli, Urhoghide, Montgomery, Shaw, Robertson, Forrest, Rogic, Ajeti
The big surprise here is the dropping of Vasilis Barkas. After a big mistake in the first leg and against West Ham at the weekend, he finds himself on the bench with Scott Bain coming in.
Outside of that, there are no surprises to be found. The biggest concern remains the youthful backline. However, it’s important to remember that Stephen Welsh and Dane Murray got through the first leg without any glaring errors.

Celtic have some decent options from the bench if need be. Being able to rely on the likes of Tom Rogic, Albian Ajeti, and James Forrest gives us some extra ammunition should we need it.
It’s certainly as strong a team as possible that Ange Postecoglou has picked tonight. And given the performances of many of these same players last week, there has to be plenty of belief within them.
Unlike last week, the game unfortunately isn’t going to be shown live on the club’s Pass to Paradise streaming service for season-ticket holders.
Overseas Hoops fans can watch the match live on Celtic TV.
For UK and Ireland-based fans, the match is being shown live on Premier Sports 1, with the broadcast beginning at 6:15pm Celtic Park Time.
Alternatively, you can follow live text coverage of the match via BBC Scotland’s official website.
Fan reaction to Celtic team vs Midtjylland
Unsurprisingly, supporters have been left talking about the dropping of Barkas for Bain. It leaves you wondering what Celtic will do in the long run with regards to the goalkeeping position. In any case, Bain has a big opportunity tonight once again.
There is plenty of pessimism given the situation surrounding the defence. But whilst there are concerns, the support remains behind Postecoglou as he looks to kickstart his Celtic career this evening.
The fans have taken to social media to give their thoughts on the lineup:
