Celtic may have practically booked their place in the third round of Champions League qualifying but they’re no closer to knowing who they’ll face.
Neil Lennon’s side will either be going to Romania or Israel but they’ll have to wait until next until that will become clearer.

Romanian champions CFR Cluj have the advantage though. They beat Maccabi Tel Aviv 1-0 at home on Wednesday night. Forward Billel Omrani notched the all important strike midway through the first-half in what was just one of three shots on target all match.
The Israeli outfit will still back themselves to turn the tie around with home advantage next week. However, Cluj’s win and clean sheet means that one away goal for them will leave Maccabi needing three.
The second leg kicks off at 6pm Scottish time next Tuesday.

What else can Celtic notice from Champions League action?
The likes of Red Star Belgrade, Copenhagen and Dinamo Zagreb look pretty certain to make the third round after their midweek wins.
Celtic are effectively looking for as many shocks as possible so our potential final round clash is as forgiving as it can be. Sadly there weren’t too many upsets with Dundalk’s 1-1 draw at home to Qarabag probably the pick of the bunch.

Lennon’s men were the biggest winners by far during the week and that is real cause for optimism.
