Motherwell has this morning confirmed that their Scottish Premiership clash on Wednesday against Celtic will be shown live on a PPV basis.

Ange Postecoglou’s side travels to Fir Park in two days’ time as they look to continue their strong start to the season, which has seen them take a seven-point lead at the top of the league.

With the Hoops currently flying on the domestic front, supporters will be keen to see the Bhoys in action, with just two more matches before the winter world cup break, in November and December.

However, that didn’t look like it was going to be a possibility for supporters hoping to tune into the midweek clash taking place at Fir Park.

The visit to North Lanarkshire wasn’t selected to be shown live on Sky Sports, with the Scottish Football broadcaster instead showcasing Manchester City’s match against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.

Celtic supporters have already experienced this sort of TV blackout this season, with no broadcast options being made available for the 3-1 win over Ross County earlier in the campaign.

However, thankfully, that won’t be the case for the Bhoys’ second visit to Fir Park this season.

Motherwell announced this morning that for those who can’t pick up tickets for the game, a pay-per-view option has been made available in order to allow supporters to tune in.

The PPV option is priced a £15 as fans of both Celtic and Motherwell get set to tune in to the penultimate game of the first half of the season.

Celtic supporters handed boost as fans provided Fir Park broadcast option.

Having already experienced a TV blackout earlier in the campaign, this PPV announcement will come as a boost to Celtic supporters hoping to tune into Wednesday’s game.

With only a limited amount of away-end tickets made available at Fir Park, it would come as a huge frustration not to have that option.

In this modern age of football and technology, all supporters should be provided with the means to watch their teams in action if they are unable to attend.

Thankfully, that is the case for this midweek clash as Ange Postecoglou and his players look to round off their final two games before the break in a strong fashion.

The Bhoys’ last trip to Fir Park was certainly a successful one, and I am sure those attending and watching on from the PPV service will be hoping for a similar performance and result!
