Celtic supporters are feeling sorry for Callum McGregor, and you can see why.
As vice-captain, he’s often had to answer to Celtic TV when results haven’t gone our way. Always a composed talker, with a clear passion for the club, he’s been the one attempting to placate supporters.
Today, it was clear to see that CalMac wasn’t to blame as Celtic meekly fell 2-1 to Jim Goodwin’s St. Mirren. Where Neil Lennon threw his players under the bus yet again, experienced midfielder McGregor was more holistic in his approach.
McGregor said:
“Really poor again. We’re not learning the lessons we have to.
“We go to sleep, we don’t do the basics. We’ve got so much learning to do, and the only way to do that is to keep learning, and stay positive.
“During the week was excellent, created a lot of chances. We’ve got a lot of young players, the consistency is going to tip. We have to go Wednesday, Saturday, Wednesday, Saturday. We’ll get there but that’s where the boys are at the minute”.
