He’s only two games in, but Celtic full-back Jonjoe Kenny has already been impressive.

Here at 67 Hail Hail, we’re refusing to get too carried away. Invariably, footballers break our hearts. I’m still hurting after Frimpong left; something I absolutely didn’t see coming.

Lining up alongside Man of the Match Stephen Welsh, Kenny was confident in his passing and movement, while managing two tackles and two successful aerial duels [WhoScored?]. The Everton loanee, who is up against Seamus Coleman for minutes at his parent club, has fit in seamlessly at Celtic.

Manager Neil Lennon has already sang his praises, claiming Celtic beat Premier League sides to his signature, albeit on a temporary basis.

Kenny, who has featured at every youth level for England, spent last year on loan at Schalke. Inevitably, he’ll win more games at Celtic, which will do his profile a great service.

Fans were delighted with Kenny’s impact as Celtic beat Motherwell 2-1. Goals from Welsh and Edouard sealed the three points on the day.

Consensus over Celtic man Jonjoe Kenny

Clearly, Kenny has already become a fan favourite. While we’d warn that he’s only likely staying for 6 months, it’s impossible not to become attached to players who put in a shift. Kenny is exactly that type of player.
