Celtic supporters in stitches as Aberdeen lot upstage expensive rivals display with Charles Green reminder

Celtic fans are in mocking mode today, looking on at strange events at Ibrox ahead of the Scottish Premiership match against Rangers and Aberdeen.

This appears to be a day in which the Ibrox lot are celebrating their ‘150 years of history’ – no laughing in the back.

A series of expensive displays were unveiled around the stadium, ostensibly of Rangers’ glorious achievements since ‘Four Lads Had A Dream’.

However, the visiting Aberdeen supporters have beautifully upstaged when with a reminder that this reiteration of Rangers, from 2012 liquidation, was born from the mind of Charles Green. Yes, Charles Green had a dream.

Images of the banner are being shared around social media, much to the amusement of Celtic fans and Aberdeen fans, who of course also have no love of the Ibrox team.

It just goes to show you don’t need thousands of pounds and even more man-hours in order to make a salient point that captures the imagination of people. All you need is a marker and a sheet.

Of course, the most important development at Ibrox today will be the result. Rangers are red hot favourites to pick up all three points but, as we know, that hasn’t been as easy for them as they’d like this season.

Aberdeen are still very much in the game at half-time and will fancy their chances of causing an upset by the time the full-time whistle goes.

Regardless, Celtic have to approach tomorrow’s trip to Livingston with full scale intensity and battling. We know just how difficult it can be in West Lothian and have our own point to prove this weekend.

In the meantime, supporters are very much enjoying off the pitch events today, taking to social media to share their thoughts on it all…
