A group of supporters have raised over £40,000 for Celtic FC Foundation’s Christmas Appeal after taking part in the annual ‘Sleep Out’ at Celtic Park.
The club welcomed over 100 people to the event this year, the seventh since its inception, with the hardy group sleeping outside overnight as a challenge to raise sponsorship cash. It’s one of the main fundraising events of the Foundation’s Christmas Appeal.
There’s still time to add to the total too, by clicking the official JustGiving link for the Glasgow team.

The event took place from 10pm on Saturday night to 6am on Sunday morning and included opportunities to get a pitchside photo with the Scottish Premiership trophy, a visit from former player Simon Donnelly and a few tunes in the tunnel from Liam McGrandles.
Many of the participants also got the chance to watch Celtic live on Celtic TV, with passes donated by the club, as Ange Postecoglou’s Bhoys took on Everton across the world in the Sydney Super Cup.
In addition to the money raised, donations of sleeping mats and sleeping bags provided for the event will be made to charities including The Invisibles and The Wayside Club, which the Foundation say will make a huge difference for many sleeping rough, on the streets of Glasgow.
It has been a great month for fundraising from Celtic supporters with The Green Brigade recently announcing that close to £60,000 and seven vans of food bank donations had been raised through their efforts.
Celtic FC Foundation also recently announced the launch of a £400,000 energy costs initiative that could end up helping as many as 17,000 people this winter.
