Victor Wanyama’s place in the Spurs team is something the big Kenyan is apparently willing to fight for.
Celtic manager Neil Lennon confirmed that the club were interested in taking Wanyama up to Scotland before the end of the summer transfer window (Scottish Sun).
However, in the end, a move failed to materialise. That was despite the fact that many supporters were itching for the deal to be done.

So far this season, Wanyama has only played three times. He’s failed to start in the Premier League this term, with his only 90-minute outing coming in the EFL Cup defeat against Colchester United. But speaking to All Africa, Wanyama stated that he’s ready to fight for his place.
“I have to put my head down and work hard in training to be back on top form. I will keep working and wait for my chance in the team.
“For me, I am a professional player and sometimes you have to wait until everything is done. Things were good but unfortunately the transfer didn’t happen (to Club Brugge).”
Wanyama not willing to just wait until January
Wanyama has shown here that he isn’t going to just train casually with his eyes on a January move. He still believes he could have another opportunity to break into this Spurs side.

That’s bad news for Celtic as, if he manages it, he’ll be unreachable this January. So far, Wanyama seems something of an outcast in North London. A January deal doesn’t look ridiculous, and Celtic could do with his star-power in the midfield.
But that will all change if he starts showing some real value for Spurs. It could also be difficult to fend off more interest from Brugge too.
Wanyama has played just twice in the Premier League this season. However, it’s worth pointing out that he failed to impress against Leicester City and Colchester United. The only other appearance he’s made was a one-minute cameo against Southampton.

Celtic need to hope Wanyama doesn’t get many more chances if we want to have a stab at bringing him in this season. He could be a game-changer up here, and the supporters would undoubtedly be all for it.
However, as it stands, it doesn’t look as though big Vic has his eyes set on a move just yet.
