Sections of the Celtic support lined up to applaud their international superstars after a hugely positive international break.
As many as 14 players were away with their countries this week, with a couple of matches still to be played. Last night, however, saw the most productive set of fixtures yet for the Celtic contingent.
Odsonne Edouard, Mohamed Elyounoussi, and Ryan Christie all got on the scoresheet and collected three points for their respective nations. The likes of Kristoffer Ajer, James Forrest, Callum McGregor, and Greg Taylor were also part of squads that took three points yesterday.
Celtic were keen to highlight their goalscorers on social media last night, and the supporters were quick to heap praise on their international displays. Here’s a look at some of the reaction:

Not just the goalscorers who should be pleased with themselves
It wasn’t just a positive international break for those who scored the goals, although naturally they’ll be the ones to grab the headlines.
Celtic fans should also be pleased with the performances of the likes of Nir Bitton and Hatem Elhamed. Both men helped Israel to a couple of 1-1 draws against Scotland and Slovakia respectively as they proved to be stern resistance at the back.
In addition to that, Vasilis Barkas was given two full matches for Greece against Slovenia and Kosovo respectively. The Celtic shot-stopper was eight minutes away from back-to-back clean sheets too, but for Kosovo’s late consolation.
Patryk Klimala is another who was on the scoresheet for Poland under-21s on Friday night in Estonia, whilst Albian Ajeti got some more minutes into his legs for Switzerland. David Turnbull will hope to put on a performance for Scotland under-21s tonight away to Lithuania in a match that will wrap up the Celts’ international schedule.
Most importantly, however, there have been no injuries reported as of yet. Christie looked to take a sore one towards the end of Scotland’s win in the Czech Republic last night, but he played on with no apparent issues.
So all in all, we can mark this down as a highly successful international break. Here’s hoping the confidence from it will show on Saturday in Dingwall.
