Many Celtic fans on social media have hit out at the idea of allowing Olivier Ntcham to leave the club this summer.

The link comes after Ntcham has failed to start either of Celtic’s opening Premiership matches. Yet, that follows on from a season in which he made 38 appearances out of a possible 53 for Neil Lennon (Transfermarkt).
And it appears for many Celtic fans on social media, the prospect of selling Ntcham is one they would rather avoid. Here’s a look at what some are saying:

A big figure and Celtic have a decision to make
90min reported that Celtic value Ntcham at around the £20m mark. Quite rightly too if that is indeed the case.
We’re talking about a regular in the France under-21 squad as well as a player who has provided big for Celtic in Europe in recent years (Astana and Lazio immediately come to mind).
However, if Celtic were to get a fee, it may not be the worst decision to get a deal done. Ntcham, remember, only has two years remaining on his contract (Transfermarkt). This may be Celtic’s last chance to get big money for him.

There is the argument that Celtic shouldn’t be losing any of their better players during their 10-in-a-row campaign. But it would be tough to see the club rejecting an offer of £15m-plus for the talented midfielder.
Outside of Ntcham, Celtic have the likes of Luca Connell and Ismaila Soro looking for further opportunities this season. For a campaign as important as this, however, Ntcham would need replaced with a big-money signing if he did depart.
At the moment, it’s all just speculation. There has been nothing official from either Celtic or Lennon regarding any interest. For many, that will be a relief.
In other news, Kris Commons believes Albian Ajeti’s arrival won’t lead to the departure of Odsonne Edouard.
