Celtic will be backed by a big away support in Sweden this Thursday, despite a bizarre tabloid headline to the contrary.
On Wednesday morning, the Scottish Sun ran a piece that was fairly critical towards the Celtic support who hadn’t taken up their full allocation of tickets for the away match against AIK.

They included some quotes from AIK marketing manager Fredrik Soderberg.
He said: “As of Tuesday, we have sold 27,000 tickets and that number will obviously rise.
“Celtic were offered 2,500 tickets, but have only taken up around 1,500 of them.”

Celtic will still be well backed in Sweden
While the headline of Celtic not taking up their full allocation may have been too enticing for the tabloid to refuse, the actual story is pretty much a non event.
The real headline is in the support Celtic will be taking to the outskirts of Stockholm. 1,500 is a terrific backing for a match that was hastily scheduled and has come off the back of three Euro away days already this season.
The Hoops support will be heavily outnumbered in the Friends Arena but they’re sure to make themselves heard throughout the match on an important night for the club.

Neil Lennon and his players have a lot of questions to answer over the next few days. They could head into the international break clear at the top of the league and in the Europa League or they could be three points off the top and out of Europe altogether.
Added to the close of the transfer window it really is a crucial few days for the club.
