It will be a real blow for Celtic should captain Scott Brown miss next Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final against Hearts.

The Hoops have had their fair share of injury issues recently, and the latest was revealed by the Daily Record. The report claims that Brown has a broken toe, which he aggravated in the recent loss to Rangers.

A danger he could miss game

There’s no doubt that Brown would like to play in the game, and if it was up to him he would. But there has to be a danger that his foot won’t make it through the cup final.

He should be rested for Sunday’s league clash against Hearts. In the grand scheme of things it is meaningless. He can come out after the game and lift the Premiership trophy.

Replacement can fill in

However, the Hoops would badly miss him if he misses the cup final. Replacements are available in the middle of the park. Nir Bitton can fill in for the skipper. He is more than capable of playing in the middle of the park.

But Brown is the player that makes Celtic tick. He is the man for the big occasions, and it doesn’t get bigger than going for the ‘treble treble’.

Hopefully the injury isn’t that serious, and Brown can lead Celtic out at Hampden for the cup final. It could be a difficult day for the Hoops if he isn’t available.
