Celtic youngster Brody Paterson was visibly delighted with the efforts of the B team today after they won away to Bo’ness United in the Scottish Lowland Football League.
Paterson was one of the players that really pushed for a winner in the closing stages.
After the young Hoops went 1-0 up, it was the 20-year-old’s forward run and low cross that allowed Bruno Davidson to make it comfortable at 2-0 moments later.
Celtic B have now won their last three league matches, moving on to 10 points.

He said: “It was a tough game. We kept the ball in the first half but never really did anything with it. In the second half we moved the ball well and put it in behind, which made them drop off and we got a lot more success from that.
“Definitely great to get the assist yeah, especially after the chance just a couple of minutes before it. I was glad someone was on the end of this one to stick it in.
“It’s down to their personalities. They’re not afraid to make mistakes. That’s the real culture in this squad, to play with freedom.
“To get the clean sheet as well, that was key for us. We know we’re going to get chances, if we don’t concede any goals, we know we’re going to win. We know what to expect every game now. If we’re on our game, it’s going to be very hard to beat us.”
Paterson, 20, is clearly enjoying life in this new B team structure. Last season he had to head out on loan to Queen’s Park to experience senior football, but now he can stay within the Celtic set-up and get crucial experience.
The young left-back and his team travel to Vale of Leithen next, taking them on at Victoria Park next Saturday.
