The player ratings for the Scottish Premiership for FIFA 21 have been released, and a Celtic player has been rated as Scotland’s best.
The Daily Record has details of the ratings, and in first place with 78 points is Hoops midfielder Callum McGregor. Second place goes to recent Celtic signing Shane Duffy, who has 77 points.
Interestingly, the man who is probably Celtic’s best player, Odsonne Edouard, is rated at fifth on the list, with 75 points, behind both James Forrest and Mohamed Elyounoussi.
Hoops dominate the top 10
The game has a touch of realism though, as Celtic dominate the ratings, with the top nine rated players all members of the Hoops squad. In fact, there are 12 Celtic players in the top 20.

You have to wonder if the players take notice of these ratings. Interestingly, the answer might well be ‘yes’. A lot of the players probably play the video game in question. Indeed, they will probably play it against their Celtic teammates.
You can bet that the ratings of the players in the past have provoked plenty of debate between the teammates. No doubt this will happen again this season. Edouard probably isn’t happy that he has only been named as the fifth best player in Scotland. Frankly, who can blame him?
McGregor has some unique achievements
Callum McGregor has recorded some unique achievements in the last year. Firstly he has played more minutes than any other player in football, and now he has been named Scotland’s best player in FIFA 21. He probably didn’t expect that when he began his career with the Hoops.

Still, it is just a bit of fun really, and will generate plenty of publicity for FIFA 21 for the game’s release. No doubt fans of Celtic and Rangers will debate the ratings online. Some Rangers players did manage to make the top 20.
However, it is Callum McGregor who is the number one man in Scotland, and he deserves that honour.
In other news, Neil Lennon and Mo Elyounoussi have praised David Turnbull.
