Celtic have this morning learned their fixtures for their forthcoming Champions League group stage campaign.

The Hoops went into Thursday’s draw with much anticipation from everyone who follows the club and there can be few disappointed that Ange Posteocoglou’s side were drawn alongside Real Madrid, RB Leipzig and Shakhtar Donetsk in Group F.

Now, Celtic have a confirmed schedule for their return to the Champions League starting with a mammoth home game against the European Champions Madrid on September the 6th for Matchday 1.

A visit to Warsaw to face Shakhtar Donetsk in a neutral venue due to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine follows on September 14th, with a further away trip to Germany to face RB Leipzig on the 5th of October for Matchdays 2 and 3.

A doubleheader at home comes next on Matchdays 4 and 5, as Celtic host a return leg against Leipzig on the 11th of October and, Shakhtar on the 25th.

The Scottish Champions conclude their group stage campaign on Matchday 6 with a glamour trip to the Santiago Bernabeu to face Madrid on the 2nd of November.

The fixture confirmation comes hot of the heels of the club announcing last night that Celtic’s lowered allocations domestically are set to continue on the continent, as Celtic had their away allocation confirmed for the Bernabeu trip on Match Day 6.

Due to ongoing construction works, travelling Celtic fans will have a reduced 1800 ticket allocation between them at the European champions’ 80,000+ capacity stadium.

It’s a disappointing addendum to a very exciting week for all associated with the club, with many thousands likely to follow Celtic to all three away fixtures for the Hoops’ first Champions League group stage campaign since 2017/18.

The team will have to park their anticipation in the meantime, with three fixtures yet to play before the group stage opener against Madrid, with a trip east to Tannadice tomorrow first on the agenda.
