Celtic’s ongoing title race with Hearts and Rangers is a big change to what we’re used to.
But Celtic academy graduate Steve Fulton was in the Hearts team that won 19 matches in the 1997-98 season, when the Hoops famously stopped the ten.
But for a late-season fall-off, it could’ve been the Edinburgh club celebrating ending Rangers’ streak. Derek McInnes will be hoping to avoid a similar downturn in form this time around.
Fulton has offered his take on the upcoming season run-in, from his own unique perspective.
Does McGregor need to be more vocal as a captain?

Steve Fulton says Celtic run-in reminds him of 1998 season
Via the Daily Record, Fulton said: “What’s going on right now is brilliant for Scottish football.
“When you’ve got English programmes and podcasts talking about Scottish football, you know it’s not the norm!

“It does kind of remind me of 1998. To be honest, most of the chat was about Celtic and Rangers that season because of 10-in-a-row.
“I watched a TV programme about that season not so long ago and the whole thing was just about Celtic and Rangers going for the title.
“It was as if we never took part in it! In all honesty most of the focus was on the cup for us. We just kind of petered out at the end.
“It’s different now though. Hearts have had the lead for so long they have put themselves in a fantastic position.
“It’s the best chance they’ve had for a long, long time. It’s just about winning your games however you can, ticking them off.
“It’s alright saying Hearts, Rangers and Celtic have got to win against each other. But Motherwell, Hibs and Falkirk are going to have a massive say in it too.
“Don’t ask me who I think is going to win it because I flip flop every week!
“I don’t think anybody can work out what is actually happening at Celtic this season. The fall from where they were a year ago is incredible.
“When they were playing Bayern Munich last season they looked fantastic. But looking at them now, they’re like a shadow of themselves.
“That said, with the experience in their side you just can never write them off.”
Who are you backing?
The table-topping trio have only all won their games in one round of fixtures so far this season.
That remarkable stat is a strong indication that there are more twists and turns ahead… hopefully in Celtic’s favour.
