Celtic are set to receive a mid-six-figure fee from FIFA for player participation in the upcoming World Cup, as countries around the globe continue to confirm their 26-man squads.
We already know that Daizen Maeda and Aaron Mooy are representing their nations at the tournament, with Cameron Carter-Vickers and Josip Juranovic expected to be confirmed over the next few days.
That means, in all likelihood, four players will be heading from Celtic to Qatar, meaning the Bhoys have four opportunities to earn cash from FIFA.

FIFA are paying out $209m dollars to clubs around the world for player participation in the competition, working out to around £8,666 per player, per day they are at the World Cup.
Those days are calculated from a week before the opening match, meaning payments are guaranteed for 19 days for each player during the group stage, with more available should Croatia, Australia, United States or Japan progress into the knockout rounds.
By the above numbers, each Bhoys star will raise £164,000 at least. However, Celtic won’t get all of the cash, with the previous clubs of all four players getting around a third of each total based on previous World Cup registration share calculations.
It all means a realistic ballpark figure Celtic can expect to receive in total from FIFA is around £430,000, with potentially more on the way.
That’s not a massive amount in the context of our total turnover, but it’s not a bad earner for no extra effort.
