Celtic’s defeat to Aston Villa in the Champions League has sorted out the final standings in the elite league.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers watched his team go down 4-2 as the Bhoys put on a battling performance at Villa Park to earn an unseeded playoff place.
Celtic striker Adam Idah ended his ten-game goalless streak with an incredible late first-half double that left Villa rattled but in the end, it wasn’t enough as the Premier League side ended the game comfortably.
Brendan Rodgers praised his Celtic team and said that the immediate word that came to mind to describe the performance was ‘pride’.

Celtic’s final Champions League place earns glamour European tie
Celtic finished in 21st place in the final UEFA standings with Juventus just ahead on goal difference and above the likes of Man City, Sporting Lisbon and Club Brugge.
Brendan Rodgers has earned a glamour playoff place against either Bayern Munich or current Champions League holders, Real Madrid.
The draw for the next round takes place tomorrow where Rodgers will learn where he will be taking his Celtic team as the first leg of the playoff will be either at the Bernabeu or the Allianz Arena.
