Celtic defender Greg Taylor has reacted brilliantly to Scott Brown’s iconic Instagram photo.
Yesterday marked a year to the day since Brown fired home a last-minute winner at Rugby Park that sent us eight points clear at the top of the Premiership. It was a key moment in last season’s title race, as it helped push us away from Rangers and powered us on to eight-in-a-row.

Of course, one member of the Celtic team was actually on the opposition side that day – Taylor. He had a fine game too. Marauding down the left side and not letting much get past him defensively led to him having a solid outing.
However, unfortunately for him, he was caught as the only Kilmarnock player in a certain iconic photo of Brown’s late winner. The Celtic captain posted it on Instagram, with Taylor quick to react:
Taylor sent several laughing emojis in the comments before stating “No other pic you could’ve used mate”. Brown then sent him a response saying “Eh you were supposed to be marking me”.
Taylor was also involved in a flashpoint at the end of the contest too. For those who can’t remember, he was goaded by then-Celtic loan star Timothy Weah at full-time. This was due to some bickering between the two before the full-time whistle.
Not many would’ve believed you if you said that 12 months on and Taylor would be Celtic’s first-choice left-back. With Kieran Tierney still in the mix, it would’ve been difficult to believe for that reason alone.

However, credit to our new man. He’s knuckled down since his move to Parkhead, took his knocks in the first half of the season, and is now reaping the rewards.
There were no reports of discontent from Taylor regarding his lack of game-time during the first half of the season. He had to watch on as Boli Bolingoli took the spot and played regularly in his place. Yet when given the chance he’s seized on it – and this photo now seems a long time ago.
Hopefully, he can recover from the knock picked up and Pittodrie and appear in Thursday’s Europa League last-32 match in Copenhagen. His form merits it.
