Celtic have had to send out a warning to the travelling Hoops support who are heading to the Champions League clash with Dinamo Zagreb tomorrow night.
Brendan Rodgers knows that a win in Croatia will guarantee a play-off place and put Celtic firmly into contention for an automatic last-16 slot after recording a draw against Club Brugge at Celtic Park two weeks ago.
However, it seems that the club have had to issue a statement to the travelling Celtic support as it seems many have been ‘targeted’ on their way to support their heroes in matchday six of the Champions League.
Celtic offer support to fans ‘targeted’ travelling to Dinamo Zagreb
In a statement on Celtic’s official website, the club says:
- Regrettably, we are aware of a number of incidents where Celtic supporters have been targeted in Zagreb. We are currently looking to liaise with these fans who have been affected and we will offer all the support and assistance we can. Clearly, we would ask all our supporters travelling to be vigilant.
- Fans are not allowed to bring objects suitable for throwing (stones, lighters, coins, chargers for mobile phones and related equipment, electric cigarettes or all those objects that security employees at the entrance estimates suggest could be used for throwing).
- Phone power banks are not permitted.
- The possession and use of fireworks, smoke bombs, firecrackers and all pyrotechnics are absolutely prohibited, due to the serious risk to spectator safety.
- Zagreb Police advice to supporters is to comply with police advice & stewards at all times and respect the city during your visit.
- Bags up to A4 size only are permitted – there is no storage area.
