Celtic’s decision to sign a few loan players in January makes sense now, when you consider the departure of Brendan Rodgers.
At the time the moves might not have made a lot of sense, but there was no point in committing long-term to players that the former manager was planning on ditching as soon as the first job offer came in.
Now it is Neil Lennon’s job to get the best out of these players before they return to their parent clubs. Here, we shall look at how the loan arrivals have fared at Celtic so far.
OLIVER BURKE – 8/10
Appearances 13; Goals 4

Probably the pick of the bunch when it comes to the Hoops’ loan deals. He has been a permanent fixture in the side since joining from West Brom. Can play on the wing or up-front, and has done both so far. His partnership with Odsonne Edouard has been unconventional, but is looking good so far. Will be a key player for the Hoops as the look to clinch a third successive domestic treble.
TIMOTHY WEAH – 6/10
Appearances 10; Goals 3

Burst onto the scene in a blaze of glory with a goal on his debut against Airdrieonians. Has struggled to find a place in the team since arriving from PSG and has mostly been on the bench. He more than showed what he was capable of in a match-winning cameo against St Johnstone, which has been the highlight of his time at the club so far.
JEREMY TOLJAN – 5/10

Appearances 10
Was signed from Borussia Dortmund to try to solve the Hoops’ right-backs issues. Started most of the games under Brendan Rodgers but has rather ominously lost his place in the first-team to Hoops veteran Mikael Lustig. It would not be a shock if Lustig kept his place in the side, with Toljan battling it out to try to get some game time for the Hoops.
