According to the Scottish Sun, Kieran Tierney is a major doubt for next week’s Rangers game.
The left-back is still dealing with an ongoing calf problem which is keeping him from Scotland duty.
If this is indeed the case, then only Jonny Hayes should be recalled to replace him.
He has shown all doubters that he is the utility man the Hoops need ahead of the crunch fixture.
Hayes over Izaguirre is common sense
Emilio Izaguirre is finding his fitness at the right time, but the ageing defender won’t have as big an impact as the Irishman will.

The tenacious winger will be up and down the flanks as well as digging his heels into the derby fixture.
The 31-year-old has proven already that he is the current fill-in left-back as shown in a couple of games this season.
Tierney is travelling back to Scotland from Kazakhstan but that shouldn’t put Hoops fans minds at ease.
Hayes will be looking for a run in the team and this might be the answer albeit to Tierney’s detriment.

Hayes must realise his chance but also remember not to let the occasion pass him by if he is selected.
No crazy formation or personnel changes please
The one thing Neil Lennon must avoid at Parkhead next week is changing the squad too much.
Brendan Rodgers did it in the last match and was punished accordingly as the Hoops lost their first derby for several years.

There should be no three at the back or wing-backs or any of the sort which could be deployed by Lennon.
The team should remain mostly the same with the correct replacement being filled in.
Callum McGregor should be nowhere near the left-back spot either as that halted the Hoops at Ibrox.
The clear answer is Hayes and hopefully Lennon realises this or faces the consequences like Rodgers did.
