Celtic’s League Cup win has made the news in the USA after American pundits delivered their verdict on the epic final against Rangers.

Celtic beat Rangers in one of the most dramatic League Cup finals of a generation after clinching the cup after a penalty shootout.

Both teams couldn’t be separated during the regulation 90 minutes as Celtic and Rangers yo-yo’d a 3-3 draw inside Hampden.

Extra time couldn’t deliver a winner so it was up to whoever held their nerve from 12 yards that decide who would take the League Cup home with them. Celtic did and Rangers did not.

Such was the magnitude of the game, Celtic’s win made headlines in the US as CBS Sports host Poppy Miller and pundits Ian Joy and former footballer Mike Grella delivered their big verdict on the result.

Speaking after the game, CBS Sports Golazo praised Celtic’s win and delivered a dose of reality to the Ibrox club.

CBS pundit praises Celtic’s ‘remarkable’ League Cup win vs Rangers

Pundit, Joy said, “Celtic, what they are doing on and off the field is just tremendously successful and what they’ve done in domination over the last ten, twelve years has been quite remarkable in Scottish football.

“Off the field, building a financial structure of stability, foundation. They’re doing it right and that’s producing the players that they have on the field.

“And the success they have on the field has given them finances to get even better and at some point you’re going to start to recognise that they can challenge across European competition.

“We might be seeing that right now because Celtic are doing alright in the Champions League.”

Rangers branded ‘losers’ as US pundit says Ibrox club ‘blew it’ vs Celtic

Following that up, Mike Grella was brutal in his criticism of Rangers, “Losers lose. For Rangers, you look at some of the big, big opportunities they’ve had this season against big clubs. Not good enough.

“Tottenham had chances but didn’t secure three points that were massive and the game today was Celtic, their rivals weren’t their best, and they blew it. So, that says it all.”

The headlines surrounding the epic League Cup final are sure to keep coming as Celtic’s domination of Scottish football continues.

Celtic is now officially Scotland’s most successful club with 119 trophies and if Brendan Rodgers can steer the Hoops to their fourth title in a row and to the Scottish Cup in May, then it seems like no one in Scotland will be no stopping the Parkhead club.
