Scott Bain’s Instagram may suggest that he’s ready to feature for Celtic whenever Neil Lennon deems suitable.
The shot-stopper has been out for just under three months with a hand injury. Since then, he still hasn’t featured in a single Celtic squad.

Bain recently signed a new contract with the club in a morale-boosting move (Celticfc.net). But it didn’t coincide with a return to first-team action. The former Dundee and Aberdeen man seemed like he was still struggling with his knock.
However, Bain posted a video on his Instagram story last night that hinted he may be fit to feature. Below is a screenshot of the video as he published footage of himself on the flight to Italy.

No need to take Bain over if he’s injured
If he was still injured, you would imagine he would have stayed home with the likes of Mikey Johnston, Leigh Griffiths, and Tom Rogic respectively (Celtic Twitter). It wouldn’t make sense to fly him to Italy if he doesn’t have some role to play.
There’s also a key question that could be answered here. Craig Gordon has been the man on the Celtic bench since Bain has been injured. Will that still be the case when Bain returns? Neither look likely of taking Fraser Forster’s jersey anytime soon.

Celtic supporters will have different opinions on who is the better shot-stopper between Gordon and Bain. However, Gordon is only contracted to the club until the end of the season (Transfermarkt). Bain, meanwhile, has signed up for the long-term.
When he returns, and it looks like it could be soon, it will be interesting to see if Lennon bumps Gordon off the bench for him.

Bain has made seven appearances this season. But he didn’t cover himself in glory against Cluj back in August. His injury will have given him some time to reflect and recharge his batteries.
And the fact he’s made the Italy trip is a positive step in the right direction. Hopefully, Bain is fit and ready to go if selected. But as it stands, we’ve had no confirmation from Neil Lennon that he is.
