Celtic fans voted on TalkingPoints to decide on which goal was better against Rangers: Henrik Larsson’s chip or Shunsuke Nakamura’s screamer.

Larsson’s iconic chip came in the 6-2 derby demolition in 2000, the first Glasgow derby under Martin O’Neill while Nakamura’s 40-yard effort in 2008 was the catalyst for an end of season run that culminated with the midfielder scoring a stoppage time free-kick against Kilmarnock to win the league.

Both iconic goals in their own right, the 67 Hail Hail audience gave their verdict on which strike was the better.

Who scored the better goal against Rangers? 🤔

Was it Larsson's chip in 2000, or Nakamura's 40-yard screamer in 2008? Tell us below ⏬

Celtic fans divided over Henrik Larsson and Shunsuke Nakamura goals

Choosing between the two goals proved to be difficult for the 67 Hail Hail fanbase, but it seemed that Larsson’s goal slightly edged it.

One fan said: “Larsson’s chip without a doubt, from the knock down from Sutton to the nutmeg on Konterman ( making him look a complete idiot ) and the sublime finish itself.”

Another supporter replied to that, arguing their case for Nakamura by saying: “It’s an insanely good goal but I always think people forget how good Nakamura was from distance, as many associated him with scoring free-kicks. It’s a really tough call though.”

You can pick any Celtic player from history to take a penalty to win a game…

This person said: “Larsson’s had more all-round quality.”

A fourth chimed in and stated: “Both were crackers but for me it’s the Larsson chip. I was right behind the goal that day and it was absolutely stunning, perfection.”

Meanwhile, this person said: “Naka’s goal was unbelievable. The movement he got on the ball was ridiculous. No goalie in the world was saving that.”

Henrik Larsson and Shunsuke Nakamura’s record vs Rangers

Sadly we never got to see Larsson and Nakamura play together as the pair of them would have been a match made in heaven.

Imagine the King of Kings getting on the end of those wicked balls into the box from the wide man.

Both enjoyed different types of success, with Larsson known for terrorising Rangers with his goals while Nakamura was part of a more successful Celtic side against their Govan rivals.

The Swedish international made more than double the number of appearances compared to the winger, but both still made a huge impact for different reasons.
