Let’s continue our journey on 67HH looking at the teams that Celtic could face in next season’s Champions League qualifiers.

There are a few sides we’re familiar with from past seasons and a few that we know little about. Let’s tackle one of the latter.

Who are Saburtalo?

Saburtalo Tbilisi are the lowest ranked of all the teams Celtic could face. The champions of Georgia have a UEFA co-efficient of 0.95 which is low compared to Celtic’s 31.

Saburtalo won the Georgian top-flight last season and are currently joint top this term too. That title victory is their one and only triumph in their short 20 year history.

Their squad is made up mainly of Georgian players although there is a Brazilian, a Kenyan and a Ukrainian. They play at the Bendela Stadium in Georgia’s capital. The arena has a capacity of just 1800 meaning that it’s not a particularly intimidating place to travel to.

Saburtalo have never previously played in Europe which would make them ideal opponents. The only downside would be a pretty lengthy flight but that would be a small price to pay for a favourable draw.
