Chris Sutton backs up Premier League boss’ Celtic take

Chris Sutton has stated on Twitter that West Ham United boss David Moyes is ‘spot on’ to suggest that new Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou will ‘never get more pressure than he did managing Celtic’.

The Treble-winning coach for the Bhoys is now experiencing life as a Premier League manager and taking to the dugout of a team that hasn’t won a trophy in over a decade and the league title in over 50 years.

Compare that to Celtic, who are expected to win the title every season, then it’s understandable where Moyes is coming from.

Interestingly enough, the Scotsman, whilst forging a healthy managerial career in England, has never taken to the dugout for a team in his homeland.

But that doesn’t mean the Glasgow-born manager doesn’t know the heat that comes your way if you end up finishing second in Scotland.

Nonetheless, upon hearing Moyes’ comments, this was the six-word response of former striker Sutton via his Twitter account.

‘Spot on this from David Moyes,’ wrote the Celtic legend.

Ange at Tottenham compared to Celtic

Whilst the Premier League has the bright lights, the big-name stars and money to burn, it doesn’t always equate to deep-heated pressure.

Yes, Scotland is a two-man league, but it’s one where you have to win every game if you are Celtic or Rangers, in style and ensure the neighbours aren’t celebrating.

Even the smallest of slip-ups is criticised to the highest order.

For Ange at Spurs now, the task isn’t to win the title, but to get the club back into Europe, if he does that, then it’s a tick in the box.
